The 1970's were an important transitional era within surf culture. The fluid style, raw purity, and renegade spirit of that timeline is seeing it's influence today in culture as a whole. It extends into major fashion houses, graphic design, illustration into board design, shaping, attitudes and music. The vibe is here, and for some it never went away. Many of the artists involved with SURFSTYLE lived through the single fin 70's, an important era to us, and many of the others were ironically born in the 70's. It's interesting to see the influence on the creative muse and this exhibit, book and special events are a forum to showcase the shit that rocks. This will not be a full representation and we will constantly flow in new work as the exhibit tours to new locales - we will tap into the bro's we missed for the first show. With that said, we're eagerly seeking out mint condition 70's boards + artifacts... so get in touch.
